Account Deletion

This page applies to the Thrift Scout mobile app (the “App”), published on Google Play by Thrift Scout. You can request permanent deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time, using either of the two methods below. You do not need to keep the app installed to submit a request.

You can delete your account directly in the App:

1. Open the App and sign in.
2. Open the Profile screen from the bottom navigation.
3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
4. Confirm in the dialog. Your request is recorded and you are logged out immediately.

The in-app option creates a high-priority deletion request tied to your account email. If you have already uninstalled the App, use Method 2 below instead.

Use the form below to submit a deletion request without reinstalling the App. Enter the email address registered to your Thrift Scout account so we can locate and verify it.

Once your request is verified and processed, the following data is permanently erased:

• Account profile and sign-in credentials (name, email, password hash, role).
• Saved product scans and their uploaded photos.
• Personal notes, purchase/sold prices, and profit records you entered.
• Saved thrift-store locations and map pins you created.
• Scan-credit balance and redemption history.
• App preferences (currency, theme) stored against your account.
• Your support-ticket conversation history.

A limited set of records is kept after deletion where retention is required by law, for tax accounting, or to prevent fraud. These records are stored securely and used only for those purposes:

• Stripe payment & invoice records — retained for the legally mandated fiscal period of 7 years after the transaction, then deleted. These are maintained by our payment processor, Stripe, and are needed for tax reporting and accounting compliance.
• Transaction logs (credit-pack purchases and credit usage) — retained for up to 7 years for audit, accounting, and dispute-resolution purposes.
• Fraud-prevention & abuse logs — retained for up to 2 yearsto detect and prevent repeat abuse, chargeback fraud, and policy violations, then deleted.

Where the retained records contain your email, it is kept only as needed to reconcile the underlying transaction and is removed once the retention period expires.

Deletion requests are processed within 30 days of identity verification. You will receive a confirmation email once your data has been erased. If you change your mind before processing completes, contact us and we will cancel a pending request.
